Who are Apex?
Apex Car Rentals was launched in Australia in 2012 with the first rental location at Brisbane Airport. Since then the business has seen significant growth with the opening of branches in Cairns, Gold Coast, Hobart, Launceston, Melbourne, Surfers Paradise, and Sydney, with our newest location in Adelaide.
Who can hire a car with Apex?
A person who holds a current full (non-probationary) drivers licence appropriate for the vehicle at the time that they are driving.
What are their age restrictions?
21 is the minimum age.
Are any roads off limits?
Apex vehicles are not permitted to be driven off road. No Apex vehicles are to be driven to Western Australia or the Northern Territory.
Do they pose any distance restrictions?
Yes, please see their map on where you can and cannot drive their vehichles. The map
on this page shows the inland boundary where you are permitted to drive Apex vehicles. If vehicles are driven beyond the boundary line they will not be covered by insurance and the renter will be responsible for any recovery costs.
Do Apex cover items stolen from within the hire car?
No, there isn't cover for luggage and personal effects of the driver or passengers.
Use of vehicle
Like any rental car companies, you cannot use their vehicles for any illegal purposes, racing, contests or performance tests of any kind. You must not be under the influence of alcohol, drugs or have a blood alcohol content that exceeds the legal limit in the State or Territory in which the vehicle is driven.
Exxy collison waiver fees
Standard insurance excess is $2,750 but you can purchase Excess Reduction / Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) coverage, which reduces your excess liability to either $500 or zero depending on the level of cover selected.
Don’t get fleeced
You’d be baaarmey not to buy car hire excess with Baaaney instead. A policy with CHE could cost as little as $10* a day and if you do have an accident, no matter if it's to the underbody or tyres, you pay nothing, zero, zilch, nada!
